I get that we should be careful, but saying that cities shouldn't spray for mosquitoes because the spray might be a risk for public health? West Nile is a big a threat to public health! Look at the birth defects it causes! Ridiculous arguement.

I love the implication that correlation = causation... hint: correlation DOES NOT equal causation. Clearly, they do not know the golden rule when it comes to toxicology: the dose makes the poison. Enough of the fear-mongering, and parading around as if you understand science, when it’s clearly a lack of understanding of scientific facts πŸ™„πŸ™„πŸ™„πŸ™„

During an infestation of fleas, we used a trap with a light to attract them over a bowl of vinegar where they jump in and die 🦟!

Dish detergent mixed with vinegar along with with whatever will draw the stupid insects to that mix. I use 3-4 drops of detergent in a shot glass for inside (good especially for fruit flies), outside the mix is a bit more and in a bigger container obviously, but will draw a lot of insects to it that way. If the infestation is bees...call a local bee keeper to help out as they will locate the local hive in a safe manner. To keep gardens safe, use marigolds and other such plants to ward off insects. Essential oils help for personal mosquito repellant

My shoe to squish them. Or a wadded up paper to swat them. Vinegar in a jar with plastic wrap over it will trap fruit flies. Place a hole in the plastic wrap. They get in, but can rarely get back out. Those bug zappers that look like a tennis racket are super fun if you get the kind that makes a zapping sound. Super fun around a camp fire if you have multiple people doing it. We keep score!

"non-toxic" is often dose dependent. Also, borax, neem oil and so-called "non-toxic" insecticides all contain chemicals, too. "natural" doesn't always equate to "better" or safer. http://npic.orst.edu/factsheets/neemgen.html
